Tammy's StoryAvailable for Adoption!
Tammy was another rescue close to home. She was skinny, debilitated, and had great trouble walking. X-rays showed multiple fractures in her pelvic area. It was decided to let the pelvis heal without trying to repair multiple fractures in her pelvic area. After 8 weeks of cage rest, x-rays showed no healing of her bones, just some connective tissue growth that should continue. She's gained weight, is walking much better, and is doing well jumping on and off the couch. While she is active, we're looking for a quieter home for her because her pelvis is not up to rough and tumble play. She has more love to offer than we could have ever imagined! Ashleigh's StoryWe trapped Ashleigh, who was a feral mom with two kittens, close to home. Shortly after arriving at the rescue, it was discovered that Ashleigh and her kittens were sick with Panleukopenia (Distemper). Sadly, one kitten passed away. However, Ashleigh made a full recovery. The surviving kitten, Audrey, survived but had some neurological damage. She’s a little wobbly when she moves but is super sweet and doesn’t let her wobbliness slow her down at all. Donations are always needed to help with medication costs. Many of the cats at Darby’s Place are long term residents, as it’s harder to find homes for cats that are feral or less well socialized, are older, or are on daily medications. The long-term residents need regular vaccinations and flea and intestinal parasites control.

Kristopher's StoryKristopher was Darby's Place's last rescue of 2022 on New Year's Eve! I was notified about a feral kitten with a badly injured leg. Luckily, I was able to trap him quickly and get him back to the rescue. Within a few days he had a surgery to amputate the leg we could not save. After a bit of time at the rescue with some TLC, he became a friendly and loving cat. We are happy to report he has since been adopted and loves his new family. With your support through donations, Kristopher was able to receive life-saving help from Darby's Place Cat Rescue. Please consider donating today to help us save more lives like Kristopher.
